11/8/17 is the due date to turn in Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes as a Christian Service Project for Word of Life.
What goes into a shoebox?
- A “Wow! gift” – something fun that will light up the child’s eyes…(soccer ball, dark skinned doll, trucks with large wheels, etc.)
- Flashlight
- Good quality plate, bowl or cup
- School supplies – pencil, sharpener, colored pencils, pens for the older children (blue, black, red and green)
- Toothbrush and plastic case
- Nice, new t-shirts for kids (with no writing on them, please!)
- Jump ropes
- Basic sewing supplies and fabric
- Marbles
- Band-aids
- Simple watch
- Sunglasses
- Harmonica
- Hair elastics and headbands
- …and so many other things!
