Teens

Youth Ministry Focus:

The focus of our youth ministry is to teach and equip these young saints for the work of service to the building up of the body of Christ (Ephesians 4:11-16). The point of this equipping is to make true disciples of these believers, and help them to do the same for others (Matthew 28:18-20). Our youth ministry is led by a team consisting of our Associate Pastor and other adults who enjoy working with teens. Their purpose for this ministry is to see our young people become more faithful worshippers of the one true and living God. We seek this goal through faithful teaching of the core doctrines of the faith, as well as teaching the distinctives of Christians throughout church history who have handed down a body of faith for our maturity and growth. It is only as we know God better that we can love him more perfectly and obey him more faithfully.

Our youth, like all members, are expected to be faithful to the regular meetings of the church body, whether that is the whole church corporately or our twice weekly meetings together as a group. We also encourage our youth to engage in church-wide ministries and outreach.

Youth Ministry Meetings:

During the school year, our youth have two weekly opportunities to meet. On Sundays we meet in the Youth Room from 11:15am-12:15pm for Sunday school. On Wednesday evenings, our Youth Group meets in the Youth Room starting at 6:30pm.

Teen Sunday School
On Sundays we meet in the Youth Room from 11:15am – 12:15pm for Sunday school.
Students in grades 7-12 will be reinforcing the foundations of their faith, looking at topics such as, “Why Trust the Bible?”, “Who is Jesus?” and “What is the Gospel?”. While learning solid answers to these questions, students will be better equipped to identify and respond to deviations from the Truth. Pastor Caleb will be using books by Greg Gilbert to guide his lessons.
Youth Group
On Wednesday evenings, our Youth Group meets from 6:30-8:00 pm. They start with game time in the Gym and then move to the Youth Room for large group teaching and small group discussion & prayer.

Teens are encouraged to read through the assigned passage ahead of time and try to answer the journal prompts. During the evening, teens will play games, share in a large group teaching time, and split into small discipleship groups for deeper discussion and prayer.

Important Documents for Youth Group:

Our Youth Group students have homework for each Wednesday evening meeting. Each week, students are asked to read a portion of scripture and take time to answer 4-5 questions about that section. The documents below provide the schedule of which passages are assigned each week and the journal prompts that the students should be considering each week.
