We are excited to have Ross Shannon teaching us how to be even more “Faithful to the Word” for this upcoming Faithful Conference. He will share six teaching sessions and lead us in two workshop sessions during this 2-day conference.
Ross Shannon has served as the lead pastor of First Baptist Church of Lapeer, Michigan, for over a decade, faithfully shepherding the congregation since 2011. A native of Massachusetts, Ross earned his Bachelor’s degree in Bible from Northland Baptist Bible College and later completed his Master of Divinity at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.
His journey into ministry was shaped by early experiences in Bible college, pastoral internships—including at Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Washington, D.C., under the mentorship of Mark Dever—and a growing passion for expositional preaching. Ross has also served alongside respected leaders such as Jim Hamilton at Kenwood Baptist Church.
Ross is deeply committed to biblical teaching and has led his congregation through the Charles Simeon Trust’s First Principles course. He has preached expositionally through a third of the books of the Bible and is currently preaching from Romans. His leadership philosophy centers on a simple but profound conviction: “Let the Word do the work.”
Ross and his wife have been married for 16 years and are raising six children, ages 3 to 14. He counts it his greatest joy and privilege to pastor and grow with the local church, helping believers deepen their love for God’s Word and apply it faithfully in every area of life.
