Word of Life kids, when you come on Wednesday, please bring a small toy that you can use to help pack Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes! For part of our evening we will be assembling shoeboxes with the supplies that have been collected at BBC.
Parents, you might consider helping to provide some of the “filler” items for the boxes as well.
Below is a list of good options for the “toy” as well as “filler items”:
- school supplies (note pads, multi-colored pens/pencils/crayons/erasers/sharpeners/pencil boxes)
- hair accessories
- bracelets
- small zip-up bags
- beads
- dolls
- toothbrush and case
- bar soap and case
- wash cloth
- comb
- t-shirt
- soccer balls and pumps
- hand-cranked flashlights
- quality melamine plate/bowl/cup sets
- flip-flops
- jump ropes
- cars/trucks/planes (larger than matchbox size is better!)
- marbles
- harmonica
- watch
- solar calculator
- sunglasses
- socks
Children are also encouraged to work with their family to create a whole shoebox at home and bring it to church at any time before 11/19.
