At Bethany Baptist Church, we are committed to verse-by-verse expositional preaching during Sunday morning worship services. While we certainly have the occasional topical message or brief topical series, our main emphasis is faithfully exegeting books of the Bible. This is the necessary outcome of our firm conviction that the Scriptures are both inspired by God and sufficient for life and godliness.

You will see this theme repeated at various points on our site, but our teaching philosophy is driven by the fact that the New Testament teaches that pastor-teachers were gifted to the local church for the purpose of maturing the saints until they grow up to the maturity of Christ (Eph 4:11-16). The pastor’s primary role in this is the preaching of God’s Word regulated by the text itself, and the living out of the same. As a church, we must not veer from the faithful, regular exposition of God’s Word which is all that the church needs for life and godliness.

Our Sunday evening and Wednesday ministries often focus on topics such as prayer, Bible reading and comprehension, current ethical and cultural questions that we are facing as Christians, and studies of individual books of Scripture.
